Call For Nominations - The 3rd Vice Chancellor’s Community Outreach Excellence Award Scheme
The University for Development Studies, Tamale, through the Directorate of Community Relations and Outreach Programmes (DCROP), invites nominations for the 3rd Vice Chancellor’s Community Outreach Excellence Awards.
Date of opening of nominations: 1st October, 2025
Date of closing of nominations: 19th December, 2025
Date of Announcement of Winners: 26th March, 2026
Date of Award: Special Graduation Ceremony in April, 2026.
Guidelines for Nominations:
- Open to all students who participated in the Third Trimester Field Practical Programme across all disciplines. Female students are especially encouraged to apply.
- Nominations may be submitted by faculty (including district coordinators), staff, or community members familiar with the student’s outreach work.
- Self-nominations are accepted from individuals or groups.
- Submit completed Nomination Forms by 5:00 PM on 2nd December 2025 via email to dcrop@uds.edu.gh, with a copy to ynyarko@uds.edu.gh.
Evaluation criteria:
- Securing funding to implement the proposed TTFPP project
- Clarity and quality of the written proposal
- Effective mobilization of people and/or resources for project execution
- Potential for replicating the approach in other communities
- Creativity and innovation in addressing community needs
- Leadership and ability to inspire collective action
Award Categories and Prizes
Individual Award: Recognises outstanding contributions and personal initiatives in community service.
Prizes:
- 1st Place – GHS 3,000
- 2nd Place – GHS 2,500
- 3rd Place – GHS 1,500
Group Award: Recognises impactful collective efforts in addressing community needs.
Prizes:
- 1st Group – GHS 10,000
- 2nd Group – GHS 7,000
- 3rd Group – GHS 5,000
