Students' Representative Council (SRC) of the University for Development Studies (UDS) Dungu Campus Donates to UDS.
On July 1, 2025, the Students’ Representative Council (SRC) of the University for Development Studies (UDS) demonstrated remarkable leadership and commitment to student welfare with a donation at a ceremony held in front of the University’s Central Administration.
In a move that underscored their dedication to enhancing academic and social life on campus, the SRC presented a package of essential resources and financial support. The items donated included:
- 30 PA systems and 30 extension cords to facilitate smooth organization of student events and academic activities across campuses.
- One Motor King tricycle to support the SRC’s logistics and transportation needs.
- One large public address system to aid major gatherings and ceremonies.
- A solar power installation at the TTH Clinical School, ensuring reliable energy supply for students in training.
- A cash donation of GHC 20,000.00 to the University’s Students’ Financial Aid Fund, offering critical support to underprivileged students.
The event drew admiration from the University community, with the SRC’s gesture hailed as both timely and impactful. By addressing key logistical challenges and contributing directly to student support systems, the Council reinforced its role as a true partner in the university’s mission of development and service.
This landmark donation not only reflects the SRC’s responsiveness to student needs but also sets a standard for proactive student leadership in Ghana’s higher education landscape.

The university's key officials who received the donations were Vice Chancellor (VC) Professor Seidu Alhassan, Pro Vice Chancellor (Pro VC) Professor Elliot Huruna Alhassan, Director of Internal Audit Mr. Abubakar Abdulai, and Principal of Nyankpala Campus Professor Mohammed Muniru Iddrisu. The SRC team that presented the items consisted of the Dean of Students, Professor Alhassan Musah, the Vice Dean of Students, Dr. Haruna Umar, the SRC President, Abukari Rahim Mbamba, and his executives.
The Vice Chancellor, in his remarks, praised the SRC's initiative, highlighting the positive impact the donated items would have on the university community. He expressed his appreciation for the SRC's efforts to identify and address student needs and encouraged them to continue their good work.

The SRC President, in his response, thanked the university officials for their presence and support. He emphasized the SRC's commitment to student-centric initiatives and assured the university community that the SRC would continue to work tirelessly to enhance student life on campus.
