UDS Strengthens Administrative Excellence at University of Ghana’s Registrars Management Seminar

The University for Development Studies (UDS) continues to affirm its reputation for administrative excellence and forward-thinking governance through active participation in the 2025 Registrars Management Seminar, hosted by the University of Ghana, Legon, from November 5 to 6, 2025.

Held under the theme, “Transformational Leadership: Inspiring Vision and Driving Change in Higher Education,” the two-day seminar brings together Registrars, Deputy Registrars, and Senior Administrative officers from tertiary institutions across the country to deliberate on innovative approaches to effective university Management and Leadership. The platform promotes knowledge sharing, peer learning, and strategic dialogue aimed at enhancing efficiency, accountability, and service delivery in higher education administration.

Representing UDS at the high-level meeting is the Registrar, Mr. Nurudeen Issah Abubakar, accompanied by four Deputy Registrars including Dr. Iddrisu Tanko, Mr. Wahab Yahaya, Hajia Ruhia Abdulai, and Mr. Joseph Attiah. Their participation reflects UDS’ unwavering commitment to strengthening institutional systems and building capacity for transformational leadership within the University’s administrative framework.

The seminar features discussions on a broad range of pertinent topics, including Transformational Leadership in University Administration, Ethical Decision-Making in Higher Education, Digitization and Records Management, and Improving Service Delivery in University Systems. These sessions are designed to deepen understanding of global trends in university governance and equip participants with the tools needed to navigate the evolving landscape of higher education management.

Speaking to UDS Media, the Registrar, Mr. Nurudeen Issah Abubakar, emphasized the importance of the seminar to UDS’ institutional development agenda. “This seminar is particularly important for us at UDS as we continue to strengthen our administrative framework to support teaching, research, and community service. It offers a platform for sharing experiences and learning from other institutions, which will go a long way to enhance our efficiency and service delivery,” Mr. Abubakar stated.

Upon their return, the UDS delegation is expected to share the insights and best practices gained from the seminar with other administrative units, ensuring that the knowledge acquired translates into tangible improvements across the University’s operations.

Through such engagements, UDS continues to demonstrate leadership in promoting professionalism, innovation, and continuous improvement in university governance. Its participation in the Registrars Management Seminar reaffirms the University’s commitment to building a resilient, efficient, and visionary administrative system that drives academic and institutional excellence.
