Victoria Boamah Emerges Overall Best Graduating Student at UDS 26th Congregation
The University for Development Studies (UDS) has honoured Victoria Boamah as the Overall Best Graduating Student (Valedictorian) at its 26th Congregation Ceremony, following her outstanding academic performance in Biotechnology and Molecular Biology.
Victoria Boamah graduated with an exceptional Final Grade Point Average (FGPA) of 4.95, one of the highest in the University’s history, distinguishing herself among thousands of graduands drawn from UDS’ various faculties and campuses.
As Valedictorian, she delivered the Valedictory Speech on behalf of the graduating class, captivating the audience with a message of gratitude, resilience, and hope. In her address, she warmly thanked the University Management, lecturers, administrators, and support staff for their unwavering commitment to academic excellence and student development.
Speaking on behalf of her fellow graduates, she acknowledged the dedication of lecturers for their mentorship and intellectual guidance, praised administrative and support staff for ensuring a conducive learning environment, and expressed appreciation to the Vice-Chancellor and University leadership for providing opportunities that enabled students to thrive academically and personally.
In recognition of her remarkable achievement, Victoria Boamah received multiple awards at the ceremony, including the highly coveted Vice-Chancellor’s Award for the Overall Best Graduating Student, alongside other academic excellence honours.

In an interview with the media after the graduation ceremony, she attributed her success to discipline, consistency, perseverance, and effective time management, noting that the rigorous academic training at UDS had shaped her into a critical thinker with a strong sense of purpose. She encouraged continuing students to remain focused on their goals and to view challenges as opportunities for growth.
